Privacy Policy
This policy explains what RAIDC.org collects, why we use it, and what may appear publicly when you submit a lost-or-found notice.
Effective October 5, 2026
1. Information we collect
When you submit a lost-or-found notice, we may collect your name, phone number or email address, animal and location details, description, photo, private identifying detail, consent, submission time, and a one-way hash of the submitting internet address for abuse prevention. We also receive information you choose to provide when you call or email us.
2. What may be published
If a notice is approved, the animal details, general neighborhood or area, photo, date, submitter name, and selected phone number or email address may be displayed publicly. Do not submit an exact home address or information you do not want published. Private ownership details are kept in the review queue and are not intentionally displayed publicly.
3. How we use information
We use information to review and publish notices, contact submitters, send approval alerts to RAIDC staff, prevent spam and misuse, respond to reports, connect people with resources, maintain the site, and comply with lawful obligations.
4. Service providers and public sources
We use website hosting, data storage, and form-notification providers to operate the service. Approval alerts are sent to RAIDC at info@bighelpers.com. We may also summarize publicly available lost-pet notices and link directly to the original provider. Those providers have their own privacy practices.
5. Retention and security
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the notice, moderation, safety, recordkeeping, and legal purposes. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices
You may ask to correct or remove a RAIDC submission or request information about the personal data associated with it. Contact info@bighelpers.com or call (773) 888-6844. We may need to verify the request and may retain limited records where reasonably necessary.
7. Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian should make submissions for a child.
8. Cookies and updates
RAIDC.org currently uses only essential site technology and does not use advertising or analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy. We may update this policy as the site changes; the effective date above shows the latest revision.
